Our service call includes 15 minutes of work. This is normally enough time to fix a single, simple problem or to identify a larger one. A service call costs $60 in Lubbock and Wolfforth, but we will be happy to travel up to 80 miles outside of Lubbock. (Rates are higher outside of Lubbock and Wolfforth).
For the same cost as a service call, we will check over the entire system. We will mark broken heads, dry spots, leaks, and other problems, and give you a proposal to repair the system. (Additional charge for systems larger than 8 zones)
Drip installation or conversion
Drip irrigation is an ideal method to keep flower beds watered very efficiently. It is exempt from Lubbock water restrictions, and provides even and deep coverage. We can install drip in new beds or can convert spray heads to drip.
MP Rotator Conversions
MP Rotators are sprinkler nozzles designed to water more efficiently and provide better coverage. They put out 1/5th as much water as normal spray nozzles, reducing run-off and allowing deeper watering. We can convert your system to MP Rotators, either all at once or one zone at a time.
Find more information on MP Rotators here.
A valve problem can can result in several problems. The valve might not shut off. It also might leak slightly, resulting in a slight trickle from the lowest head in the zone. The valve might also not turn on. We can help identify these problems and find and repair or replace the valve, if necessary.
Many times, valve boxes become buried in the yard, or some cases, were never installed in a box. We have a wire locating tool, which we can use to trace wires from the controller back to the valves.
Backflow Device Installation
Some valve repairs and main line leaks require an approved backflow device to be on the system. If the system does not have one, we can install a Double Check Valve Assembly, an approved device in Texas.
We can add zones, move heads, and cap lines. When adding a new building, pool, or fencing, it is important not to damage the sprinkler system or bury heads under concrete.
We can convert manual systems to automatic systems. We replace manual valves with electric valves and will install an easy-to-use controller.
Electric controllers will eventually wear out. We can replace them with a new controller or can attempt to repair some models (please note that when replacing or installing a new controller, the State of Texas now requires a sensor to be installed, if not already in place).
Irrigation System Audit
After completing repairs, we can do a complete evaluation of your system. This is ideal for very large systems, such as parks, cemeteries, schools, and apartment complexes. We will calculate uniformity, flow rate, and form an ideal irrigation schedule.
Scheduled Maintenance Program
Sprinkler systems are like cars; they need regular work to make sure they are operating like they should. In West Texas, dirt blows in and raises the level of the soil over the tops of heads. These heads then need to be raised. Lawn mowers hit heads, causing leaks, and nozzles get clogged.
With this program, we can schedule to come out several times per year and check your system. The benefit is that we already know when we'll need to be coming out, so we have a spot reserved for you.
All you need to do is decide what months you want us to come out, normally in March, July, and October. If you have Fescue grass and water in the winter, we also recommend January. We can come out all four times or only come out in spring and fall at your choice.
